Japanese inspirations through the short film Two sisters by Anna Budanova, currently in production at Ciclic Animation until October 2nd.
Director, animator, illustrator, Anna Budanova is graduated from the State University of Architecture and Art in Urals, Russia, with a Master’s degree in Graphic Arts. She directed three short animation films selected and awarded in several international festivals: The Wound (2012), Among the Black Waves (2016), Spring (2017). Today, she is developing Two Sisters, a new animation project inspired by a Japanese choreographic style, butō or «the dance of darkness». The short film will also be an opportunity to address the theme of "The Other and Oneself".
This project has received a production support for animated shorts. Director, Anna Budanova, will be in residence from June 2nd to October 2nd 2020.
